Thinking of Extending?

Kitchen Extensions Coventry

Extending the kitchen is a great idea if you are running out of space  or just need a bigger area to practice your culinary skills. If you have a growing family then having more room is also an amazing idea and also one that makes good use of your property.

We Can Help!

– The process of getting a kitchen extended can be a tricky one to negotiate. For example, do you need planning permission? Even if you don't need planning permission, what is the effect going to be on your neighbours? We all have to live with one another and it's far better to get people on your side in the first place than alienate them.

Structural concerns

Do you have supporting walls? Of course, some walls have to be supporting so which ones are the best to move and which will need to be reinforced

We can help you in the first instance with an on site visit followed by a full structural survey if necessary. We are fully insured and are here to guide you and make the process as simple as possible.

Design

- Designing your new kitchen extension shouldn't be a chore, it should be fun! We have built many kitchen extensions in your local area and can help with all aspects of design and construction. From the practical things such as deciding where your sockets and plumbing need to go through to choosing appliances such as built in fridges, microwaves, wine racks and

UK Government Planning advice

An extension or addition to your house is considered to be permitted development, not requiring an application for planning permission, subject to the following limits and conditions: No more than half the area of land around the "original house"* would be covered by additions or other buildings. There are many more conditions that need to be considered and they are available at the UK Government Planning Portal

Professional Tradespeople

All of the staff we employ are experienced, fully insured, professionally trained and fully capable of carrying out the work in your property. We always work safely and adhere to regulations enforced by Local and National Government. We are also members of the Federation of Master Builders and we hope that gives you reassurance.

Sometimes we grow out of our existing property and moving home can be a costly option,

particularly as the cost of stamp duty in the UK is now at such a high level and the property market

isn’t exactly booming at the moment. Having additional room for an elderly relative to stay with you,

a separate bedroom for a child or indeed a home office will make a big difference to your quality of

life and, perhaps add value to your property.

Extending your home can make a great deal of sense and is also far more cost effective than moving

as the only additional costs you are incurring are directly related to the building of the extension

itself.

Extensions need to be appropriate to the size and type of building. We’ve all seen awful house

extensions that detract rather than add to the look and feel of a building- it’s so much better if an

extension is built in keeping with the existing building rather than fighting against it.

We can help at all stages of the process. From an initial discussion to ascertain what can and can’t be

done from a structural point of view through to recommending an architect to draw up plans as well

as helping you through the planning process, we’re there to help you along the way. Why not give us

a call or drop us an email and we’ll pop round to discuss your needs, no matter how large or small

they happen to be.
